Please go gently on new members who may not be aware of forum workings, technical issues or the club's norms when it comes to jokes, innuendos and hidden or overt 'taking the pee'. We can all have a good laugh sometimes without going over the top to the extent that someone is hurt or offended.
However, new members should be aware that this is a community like any others which develop their own mores, values and general behaviours. One that in particular doesn't always go down well, is repetetive posting of contentious issues veiled as general questions... as well as simply over-posting (as in any debate or conversation amongst friends, too much butting in by unknown bystanders can be tiresome, although a well-made point be quite acceptable). As a start, at least introduce yourself before a first post, unless its a technical issue and if it is, please read the rules for Tech Advice at the top of the Tech forums first - and follow them!
Listening to members' complaints and comments is part of the moderation process.
Moderators prefer not to intervene or meddle with the normal run of a thread, but may do so for a variety of reasons. They may also delete or modify a post or a whole thread, as well as censure a member publically, temporarily withdraw their logon rights, or permanently ban them from the club.
This could be done either on a single post or incident or upon a considered judgement of the member's history and long term forum behaviour.
