Wiring up heated syncro/LT mirrors

Syncro mirror arms were originally non-heated whereas some LT arms were sold with heated mirrors with the wiring fed through the arms.

However heated LT mirrors can be bought from VW cheaper than standard mirrors (281-857-547C) and they are the same sealed unit as Syncro mirrors but have wires attached. The wiring can be neatly tie wrapped to the mirror arm and fed through the hole in the door.

Then wire them up according to the diagram below

17amp wire, relays, fuse holders and non-insulated terminals can be bought cheaply from http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Job done. Now you will have clear mirrors and misted up side windows :rofl

Also the safety coupling at the base of the steering column can also degrade (there is one under the van too) and you can end up with no steering. See mine in the picture below!!

Cruz, OK, ta

2 under the van BTW

Steering rack bushes available from JK http://www.justkampers.com/shop/steerin ... 10271.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and these seem to be column bushes, not rack bushes

Hi Harry and all.

I wrote a post on a thread about how to tune a CB radio aerial correctly (known as SWR)

It was suggested that I put it in the wiki (I seem to have become the "please add to recommended T25 garages" guy).

I figured out how to add it but I do not know "where" in the wiki it is :? It appears fine if you type SWR in the search box as per = http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/Swr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

How do I add a link to it in the index (section 26.7 perhaps ?). Maybe I do not have sufficient privileges to do this, if so, if it is considered worth it, perhaps Harry or whoever could do it.

Willoughby has some useful photos at the top of this page, about fitting a 3-point seat belt in the back of a van.

http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... 4&start=15" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any chance some / all of them could be added to this section in the wiki?

There's a useful photo of a petrol tank with all the pipes in place in this thread:
http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=102871" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any chance this pic could be added to the "removing the fuel tank" section of the wiki?

I Have added my drive belt dimensions

There seems to be quite a few configurations for diesel engines, could we get a list together of what people use?
