Running-in period for re-con diesel engine

Post by brookie »

Hi all.

Have just had a re-con AAZ 1.9TD engine and head fitted to my high-top van. The engine re-builders specify a 600mile running-in period of not exceeding 3000rpm and an oil and filter change at that point. They haven't mentioned any re-torquing of head bolts though.
Is this an ok running-in period before I can progress to giddy speeds of 60mph? They also stipulate running it on quality mineral 15/40 oil with quality filter which I'm happy with.

Thanks in advance for any feedback and Happy New Year to all and your vans.

aw engineering fwiw say 1000 mile oil change no over revving and no prolonged periods of idle. I have no re-torque specified either.
