1y gearbox?

Can the gearbox from the 1y golf be used on the t25? ,my gears are crap!

No....its not compatable with the van

mines still on the 1.6 gear box and it does rev a bit but still getting 30+ to the gallon.

i noticed yours didnt have the ducting on the airbox to the snorkel box..that will sound really loud without it on and will enhance the engine noise.also some insulation in all the right places will bring it down more and finally when the rock and roll beds in with the cushions itll be quieter still..you have just stripped it all out ,havnt you ?

What size tyres are you running? Yeah I've just stripped it all out. What revs are you doing at 60mph?
Yeah im going to attempt to sort that induction pipe problem out tomorrow but I have to find something that will go over the elliptical pipe from the air box.
I plan on insulating almost every surface inside the van anyway for when we use it to camp in during winter, and summer it will keep the heat down wont it.
I just can't wait for it to be quieter.

im just running standard wheels and tyres ..i dont know what revs its doing but id say around 3500rpm at 60mph.i just stick to 55 to 60 mph tops..eventually we get there.
if you need better gearing you could try out larger diameter tyres on the back or look for a 1.9 petrol gearbox

but make it your last thing to do when everything is in..you might find its not as bad as you first thought
