Well done! That's the thing with 14CUX, it needs road speed input amongst other things. 4CU only needs 4 wires and fuel to run!
Want some RR parts and workshop manuals? I've got a pile of 'em and the parts ones are like new. Come to think of it there's most of a 3.9 efi system too (no plenum as I cut the throttle body off when trying to go supercharged years ago)
I doubt that I'll ever need any of it as I'll never build the 4x4 rear-engined, T3-bodied "Ran Over"

I love the simplicity of creating a speed sensor from the speedo cable. A analogue to digital converter in its simplest form.

I might keep me out for one of those - always fancied making myself a cruise control system!

At Vanfest bought a scruffy but rust free tailgate for £25 , mine has so much rust and damage its not realy worth saving.
So with Christmas out the way Ive set about prepping it and a good friend has painted it for me.
Just need to get a new window seal and Ill be ready to fit it.
Ive also picked up another ABD gearbox to donate stronger 3rd & 4th gears to go into the DT I have.
I will be doing my own gearbox rebuild - I have a pdf of the bently manual and will make tools etc as I go along - should be an interesting challenge !

This is going to make the rest of the van look bad isn't it

 Red face time!
Been under the van and actually measured.
The alloy PHILLIPS adaptor is 47mm thick and the steel adaptor plate is actually 6mm thick!

So, the next tool to make was a socket for the splined nut that holds the pinion bearing in.
Simple plan , Take a piece of tube , cut a bit out , squeeze it down to the right diameter , weld it up , build up with weld inside ,file out the teeth .... shouldnt take too long

H shaped frame allows all my effort to go into undoing the nut , still needed a helper to hold the gearbox down with a bar - it was TIGHT !

Removed the other end of the case next, stripped of reverse gear parts before splitting the box.

The other reason for making the H shape frame was to help with pushing the pinion bearing out.

Made a stand for the gear carrier out of yet more scrap metal , and then off to the press.

2 shafts ready to be stripped.
I think all the time and effort making the tools is worth it , It has taken relativly little time to dismantle the box so far and nothing has been damaged. Plus I have it all to do again to put the gears into the other box.
