Golf MK III 2.0 GTI engine conversion - noisy fuel pump

Post by lellis77 »

Hello all, I have a 1985 T25 with a Golf MK III 2.0 GTI engine conversion. The current fuel pump is an inline T25 pump (after market) and it has been getting progressively noisier in the 1.5 years I have owned the van. By noisy, I mean incredibly loud constant fuel injection, sounds like the pressure is too high.
The golf mk3 pump would be an in tank pump but I need an in line pump equivalent. We have tried a pump with a lower pressure but that was not pumping sufficiently to start at all. Now looking for alternatives but it would be great to hear if anyone has the same engine conversion and which fuel pump they use before I start throwing money at more random fuel pumps!
Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Cheers.
