Old (KY) Injection Pump on 1Y Engine

Post by The Hairy Camper »

Just swapping over an old (working) injection pump onto my 1Y.

Was going well until i noticed the non working pump had threads to bolt straight to the engine, the old (working pump) doesn't have threads! I had a look at the old engine (KY), and it has a big bracket that goes in the cambelt area with bolts welded on. It doesn't look like it can be removed or fit onto the 1Y.

Has anyone come across this before? Can i simply (and safely) put nut and bolts through?

Cheers.

Cheers for your input, Aidan. I do want to send of the 1Y pump off to be rebuilt. If anyone has any reccomendations, let me know! Seems pretty expensive!

For now i've attached it like this:
