Throttle bodies on a wbx

I have found a German company who make Weber flange pattern inlet manifolds and throttle bodies that will fit the wbx and they are not expensive!
It will require a new inlet plenum making to connect to the AFM before ultimately having a conversion to MAP sensing or an AFM to MAF conversion (they exist)

I think it could make for an interesting setup on a 2.5

That does sound interesting - watching with interest if your looking at doing this to the 2.5 build - could it be something that would work on a 1.9 and if so, what sort of costs would be involved?

I am only investigating this because I consider that the 2.5 has the potential to be a 150, maybe 160 bhp engine with a good idle and nice road manners if it can be given the ability to breathe better.

On a 1.9 you could potentially build a peaky, revvy animal with no low speed torque below 3000rpm but who wants that in a heavy bus?

I once sent a DG off the end of the tacho when the throttle cable froze, so I dont think that the 2E3 is the restriction.

That’s true, I know they can be slightly temperamental unless higher up the Rev range.

I’ll see how I get on with the the MM rockers - I have another Weber carb that I’m going to have fully reconditioned by Paul Hollidge in Essex, then I’ll get it back on the rolling road for final tweeks.
