Hi all, I'm currently running my van with 1.9m-tdi and 5 speed (ass i think) gearbox with very expensive taller diff fitted for the diesel engine. Problem is the 5 speed box is jumping out of 2nd and 5th, its not linkages they have been rebuilt and adjusted multiple times!
I'm currently rebuilding a 1z engine with loom and ecu to replace the m-tdi the big question is when i fit the new engine do I go to the trouble and hassle of fitting a flipped (passat/audi) gearbox, or do i get the 5 speed re-con'd?
I like the original gear shift and dont want to spend weeks modding things to fit the flipped box. Also I cant find any definitive info on fitting flipped box's and gear cables.
Any thoughts opinions on pro's and con's greatly appreciated.

Re: To flip or not to flip
Flipped Audi transaxle: cheap, but nasty. Horrible botchery/butchery imho.
Rebuilt 5-speed: costly, but done properly will see you right. 4.14 (29/7) diff should be a joy to drive.
Just my pedantic engineer's take on it.
