AAZ (1.9td) engine with JX (1.6) pump

I have managed to shear off another (3rd one) injection pipe, from pump to injector, and through many calls and some research, have found that my t25, when coverted to a AAZ 1.9, they kept the 1.6 JX pump. I cannot buy off the shelf pipes so I am going to try and get some flexible ones made, but to do this, I need to know the pressure ranges that this pump works at. Does anyone know or can you point me in the right direct?

It also means the full set I had made (without knowing about the pump) are one inch wrong, so if anyone is looking for a newly made, never used set of pipes, do get in touch.

Thanks in advance.

I doubt a flexy would cope with the pressure, Brickwerks stock the JX ones, even better fit the proper AAZ pump, you're losing a fair bit of power using the JX pump.

Do you mean that they have broken as you are driving? Injector pipes must be fitted with rubber lined clips joining the pipes together in pairs to damp down vibrations. Without the clips they are doomed to fracture. Sorry I don't have a photo available.

Or do you mean that you reshaped the old pipes to fit causing them to break? Old pipes are very likely to break if you try that, especially if they don't have the clips fitted.

Thank you for the responses both.

The pipe sheared off as I was driving and i knew it happened as you loose literally all power. the garage I use, who specialise in VWs and have been working with them for years felt that as the injectors and pump are working already, its a more expensive route to go down (replace pump) as they are not cheap and it would need to be set up for this engine, which is also not easy or cheap.

I can see the logic is using reinforced pipe, I had an old golf gti mark one and all the injection pipes in that were flexi, so I assume pipes can take the pressure, but I need to know what pressure that is. from what i can see, a referb pump is about £350 :( :(

I should also add, when the engine was converted, from 1.6 to 1.9, as they used the old pump they must have redesigned the injection pipes as they didn't follow the usual path and it was only possible to 'Clip' two of them together. cyclinder 4 goes one way round the round thing (actuator i think) on top and the other three go the other side. they are not close enough to clip all three, so I clipped two of them.

Golf gti is petrol, different system altogether. P.S. if the LDA is on top of pump it's an AAZ, JX is to the rear. Pic would be handy.

i have add a couple of shots. i used the pump id plate to identify it. you can see in the shot of pipes that only two come this same side as the bit sticking out of the pump. sorry, my tech knowledge is limited...

The white one is just a coat hanger as I was trying to make a template for the engineer to try and replicate without seeing the actual engine. its was almost there, but clearly my part of the work wasn't as good as his :(

107 T is correct part number for JX pump, sounds like they mixed the pipes or used the AAZ ones
