Cooling question: petrol vs diesel

Post by silverbullet »

Is it possible to fit the later diesel radiator fan & shroud (350mm iirc) to a petrol bodyshell, which has a 305mm fan?
I have a feeling that the td tunnel is wider as well as taller to accommodate the bigger fan, so it probably won't go.

I would say it will fit, the tunnel only changes after the heater pipes come into the cabin, I think the fan is heavier duty too, motor on mine petrol looks less beefy than the diesel one, I think I have a spare too

If you can confirm or deny I'd be most grateful. I am a little concerned that the 3.2 wbx6 with aircon will make a lot of waste heat...
