Tdi cone filters?

Post by VWMartin »

Hi guys

I'm running a 1z conversion in my T25 and I'm lacking space in my engine bay due to air box being on the wrong side of the bay.

Just wondering if anyone is running a cone induction filter on their tdis as this would save me a load of different problems.

I'm thinking of getting one but don't wanna waste £80 and a load of work to make it effective.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

I just gave you the name of mine... K&N Apollo. It's a enclosed one, so it's quite easy to attach up to your diesel snorkel. I'll see if I have a pic handy, but Google will show you

I like the look of that. Tempted to get one for my 1Y. Although its about the same price as I paid for the engine.

How do you find the noise levels with that set up?

I'm looking for a solution to get rid of the horrific noise/ vibration that occurs between 65 - 70!

I've got a cone filter mounted behind the rear light, not sure what make. Would love to have something plumbed into the snorkel..

I find mine pretty quiet, the engine is quieter than my wbx, and the 1.6td I had running standard air filters.
I am going back to a normal type filter after the summer, for me it was a convenience thing as it fitted in the space I had. I've since made more space..

Air inlet on a TDI is 70mm, well that's what your MAF will be be.

Cheers mate - measured it last night and the MAF is indeed 70mm.

I too dont have the space so want to do a few things and the cone is one of them. Ordering a 'Green' filter 140x200mm.
