Westfalia Pop Top cleaning
With somewhat of a light at the end of the tunnel I have started at preparing my Camper for the first trip of the year. As it’s been sitting outside for about 1.5 years with little use the pop top needs a little TLC. What do you recommend to clean the white pop top fibreglass material. Is it worth j...

Engine oil (Halfrauds Classic)
Hi everyone, It probably been asked a mile times discussed over and over again about which oil for which engine etc. I have tried the Halfords classic 20W50 for a change as it’s the most easily accessible and cheapest one I can find over here in Ireland works out around €25 for 5 litres. I have noti...

Mercedes wheel fitting
Hi everyone, I bought a set of steel rims from a Mercedes w124 estate 1244001002, 7J x 15 H2 ET46. What do I need to do in order to fit them to my camper. Do I need spacers first of all. Secondly do I need to get different nuts to suit radius or tapered nuts? Have I to change the bolts at the rear t...

Re: Hydraulic lifters
Replaced it this evening with OEM Kolbenschmidt from brickwerks. Went round and checked the rest while I was there.
Took it for a run and no more noise.
Job done. Until the next thing breaks [emoji39]

Re: Hydraulic lifters
Ya they do indeed have a passage for oil. I cleaned them all out and blew with a compressor when re installing after the rebuild.
Looks like a few new Lifters will be heading my way soon [emoji19]

Re: Hydraulic lifters
I changed the oil whilst I had it up on the lift. It was at a good level before I changed it and prob only had 1500km on the oil. I have changed oil filter and new 20W50 mineral oil. I have always used this grade of oil. Yes it hasnt been driven in a couple of days but its gets at least a drive once...

Hydraulic lifters
Hi on my 2.0 CU Aircooled engine the tappets are quite noisy. And all of a sudden. Had a look and found that one of the hydraulic lifters has become squishy. Is this a sign of a new one is needed all the other ones are hard when pushing in with the push rod. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapat...

Re: Diesel heater repair
I installed one of these heaters in my petrol Westy and I cant believe the output of heat from it. I installed mine under neath the van and tied it in where the original eber once lived. I have the same 5.5 litre tank installed under the R and R bed and I also keep the digital control display there ...

Aircooled HT leads
Well lads, Having a bit of an ongoing issue since the rebuild involving cylinder 4s HT lead not getting great spark and poor idling when it happens. Any idea where I can get a good set of HT leads once and for all before I get down to diagnosing the poor spark issue. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N950F us...

Re: More horn woes
There should be a ground wire attached to the bottom of the steering rack. Clean it and check again it's what caught me put when mine stopped working.

Engine crane!!!
Buy one or ask around I'm sure someone will give you a lend of one for a weekend. Takes all the messing out and a lot safer than the other methods.

Re: Where to mount an eber in an Aircooled
Has anyone tried to retro fit one of these chinese heaters In the original eberspacher location under the R and R bed.
I'm thinking of fitting one and I'd like to try and bot cut holes in the original woodwork.
