Re: Recommendations for new bed
Thanks for the reply. I dont think the m1 beds are the most aesthetically pleasing but for the same reason as you I am considering one. I need 2 3 point seat belts and looking for the simplest solution. I've read some old threads on here re m1 camper beds and some from the guy who makes them too. I...

Re: Best material for seat covers
They look really good. The company I'm hoping to use have alcantara (faux suede) as an option for the centre pieces so think I'll go for that with vinyl on the wings.

Re: Best material for seat covers
Cheers all. I definitely prefer the idea of a cloth covering but unless you make them yourself they seem really expensive to get made up.

Re: Recommendations for new bed
Hi mariner What did you go for in the end? (Old thread i realise) Br Andrew Hi Andrew. Been pathetically indecisive! The van is due back from the sprayers in about 6 weeks so now need to make a decision. Having had a good look around, it seems to be either Rusty Lees or m1camperbeds. The beds by M1...

Best material for seat covers
Anyone have any advice/experience on the best material for new seat covers? I've got early T4 seats and I've managed to find someone who will make some new covers for me - they use either vinyl or leather. Leather will obviously be expensive and wasn't really what I was thinking of, but I'm a bit co...

Cab light
Hi all. I have one cab light in my ‘85 panel conversion that is above the driver’s door. Does anyone know if this is meant to come on when I open the cab door? It doesn’t but works if I move the small plastic lever off centre so bulb is good. Be good if it came on automatically when I open the cab d...

Re: Recommendations for garages full restoration.
Hi. I know you're midlands based but as you said you're prepared to travel thought I'd share my own experience on this - we're based in Bristol. Our van is currently being chopped apart and resprayed by vdubresto just outside of Bristol. Mark has been great all the way through and reasonable with hi...

Online design tool for respray
Have found this online and it's been hugely helpful in making a final decision on our respray. Haven't seen it mentioned on here so thought I'd share. Also helps if thinking about changing wheels.

Re: Replacement latch for sliding window
I’ve noticed that JK do one. I phoned them and they say it’s only for factory fitted windows. Has anyone fitted one from them and know if it can be adapted to fit non factory windows? Cheers.

Re: Worth updating Zig unit?
Looking at the spec suggests that there is little difference. Seems very expensive compared to the cost of a decent smart charger and just using your current CF8 as a distribution unit. Having said that, I used my van for accommodation 4 nights a week for several years and never had any leisure bat...

Worth updating Zig unit?
My van is currently stripped out at the bodyshop so using it as an opportunity to check over the electrics. It has the original CF8 zig unit at the moment. I’ve had it looked at and the advice was along the lines of ‘it’s old and out of date and had a bad reputation, often referred to as the battery...

Replacement latch for sliding window
Looking to fit a more effective latch on my sliding window. The original broke and has been removed with a low grade replacement now in place. Anyone know of a particular latch or mod I could do to make it more secure and aesthetically pleasing! Cheers! https://i.imgur.com/w08Vllj.jpg https://i.imgu...

Re: Viking Roof Latch - need longer thread
I would check that your roof is fitted correctly and that the hinges are all okay. I have a super Viking and when I bought it it only had one working latch - the other was missing and a cable tie had been used. Didn’t have an issue with closing the roof and using the latch though. I now have protex ...
