Re: start stop start stop problem
I'd agree with REEGAJ. I had similar symptoms. Trouble is if your mechanic can check it when the van is running but he won't find a fault, he needs to check it when you break down, can you pay to have him travel around with you? For the sake of the cost of the amplifier I'd bite the bullet and buy o...

Rubber seals - like tyres, hard when cold, softer when hot. They also tend to harden with age.
O ring type seals (not familiar with the type of seals being discussed) work better with some pressure to force the seal against a face or bore/shaft.

Re: engine problem, please help ,update
Hi Leebo, Just fixed the same leak today. I over filled the oil last two weeks ago and had a constant drip from the pipe. Looking at the pipe it had been leaking for quite a while in view at the build up of gunge. Searched for petrol pump+oil leaks and reckoned the pump was leaking the oil. I could'...

Re: Dangerous/Steering Knuckle thread
Have a look at the first picture of the thread on the stub. The thread that is left has been rolled over - it looks like the nut has pushed its way past the male thread. I wouldn't rely on a new nut staying on.

Re: Front brake flexis hitting inner wheel
What happens when the water pipe wears through or fails?
I would fix the problem correctly / safely 1st.

Re: Rotor arm
Hi,
I've fitted a non limited arm, it's simpler, ie less parts to fail and seams to run better. Just keep an eye on your speed in the gears.

Re: What Spark Plug Fits The 2L CU
I use NGK plugs, I always found them best for motorbikes in my younger days in the 70's, especially 2 strokes. The NGK site http://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/car_commercial_search.php?type=SPARK%2520PLUGS&manufact=VOLKSWAGEN&model=TRANSPORTER%2520T3%2520%252879--%253E92%2529&engine=2.0"...

Re: *MASSIVE OIL LOSS*
Hi Jonny, Same as the last post, had an annoying leak - almost running not dripping. Spent 10 minutes under the van with the engine running getting cooked with no avail. Finally looked from the top of the engine bay and noticed oil flowing out of the oil switch where the terminal exits. Did'nt expec...

Re: Never ending oil leaks
Check the oil pressure switch on top of the engine. Took ages looking underneath getting cooked while looking for leaks with the engine running, while it was flowing through the where the wires exit the switch!

Re: Sliding window very stiff!
Had the same problem. Managed to get the window moving by using a suction puller on the glass as well as some silicon spray in the runners. http://www.rolsontools.com/search.asp?page=1&id=445&tt=5&ct=3&searchKey=suction" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Regards...

Re: Lower ball joint gaiter
Superglue works very well on rubber, try removing any grease from the split with meths and then glue. I've repaired cv gaiters in the past and they've held up ok.
