Re: little help needed....

I have coolant pipes made out of copper. They were on my van when I got it.

Re: Engine Swap

Here's the engine running / not starting. I uploaded a video to the 80-90 facebook page. I hope it's viewable. https://www.facebook.com/groups/6736795 ... 622890779/

I haven't no. May be able to source one.
Do timing guns work on whilst cranking the engine over?

Re: 1.9 DG WBX Running Problem

Assuming yours is RHD, the one on the passenger side should be a non return valve.

Re: 1.9 DG WBX Running Problem

Hi, Its always a shame when someone is having running woes. have you checked for water in fuel as Marlinowner suggested? - undo fuel filter (under middle RHS of van behind fuel tank) and drain into clear jar. Look for seperation and debris. and have you done what Kevtherev suggested? First off I'd b...

Re: Engine Swap

Got it running (of sorts) today. Swapped the fuel pump shaft for the one of my old engine. That inside bolt is a bugger eh! Chucked a bit of fuel down the carb, capped off one of the vacuums and voila! Didn't tick over though, which is unsurprising as non of the carb eletrics and vacuums are o...

Re: Engine Swap

Got a spark! Finally got back there to have a look with someone to turn the key for me. It is sparking. I guess they don't show up on video recordings in sunlight! Fuel flow looked rubbish, so will add in an electric pump to see if this resolves that. Multisi has saved the day and found me so...

Re: Engine bay remote starter switch

Haha! I did try that but it was awkward to reach whilst watching spark plugs. Remotely mounted solenoid are a lot easier.

Re: Engine Swap

So got to the van today and established a few things: 1) I really dont have a clue what I am doing 2) I have lots of wires that dont obviously connect to the other wires 3) I should have bought an engine with the same coolant system 4) I really, really dont have a clue what I am doing!!!! Here are s...

Re: Engine bay remote starter switch

Ah okay, Picture wasnt clear on my phone. I went into the local factors to ask if they had anything made up already like this and they went off on one about how dangerous it is! I then went and looked at the van and saw the spade at the side. I assume that from the positive to this terminal activate...

Re: Engine bay remote starter switch

Thinking of doing this.. What size cables because won't they take the full starter load?
