Re: Apk gen v git
All rebuilt and all service items now replaced apart from the sump whichi will fit soon. Interestingly the 15degree sump and the 50 degree sump are not a million miles apart. The 50 degree one is a work of art. https://i.imgur.com/nDilEoH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SBw3xc4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7Ucmn...

Re: Apk gen v git
The engine has a good service history but I am replacing all the serviceable parts now as its easy on the stand. The water pump is driven from the cam belt.on the 06a engines and I don't think its ever been changed. https://i.imgur.com/3iK5kiD.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HHkoutj.jpg The impeller was inc...

Re: 1.8 t at 50 degrees
Thanks. Has not been driven that much but it is a real hoot to drive. Bundles of power smooth. refined and quiet. Would while heartedly recommend the 1.8t.

Re: 1.8 t at 50 degrees
I decided that I did not want to have the ecu and associated relays and fuses inside the van ad it may compromise future use of the van. So I decided to mount it between the body and the inner skin of the van. In due course I will have a protective plate made to protect the loom from any road debris...

Re: Cabin heat, 1.8T conversion, extra pump?
One other consideration I am finding out as I go with the 1.8t engine install is that the heater input and out put are 19mm and 21mm on a longditudal set up. Would the increased presure and lack of flow be an issue when reducing the pipe size to 16mm to fit our vans potentially be an issue?
