Re: Can't get stater motor off/

Sparks? Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Check that all your power supply terminals are insulated properly or not almost touching one another or loose, etc. I think I'm right in saying that a high current can jump across to another terminal if the insulation is poor? You aren't having much lu...

Re: Corrosion - is it safe to drive?

I don't like the look of that where the suspension arm bolt locates. I'm pretty sure that it's vital to get the mount hole for the suspension arm spot on or your rear geometry will be out, causing tyre wear and such like. If you can find, therefore, a firm who can undertake it, make sure that they c...

Re: Can't get stater motor off/

Yeah, its an easy enough job to replace. I did all the earth straps, etc first but it still kept clicking away, and turned out to be the switch  Fortunately, I had a spare with me!

Good luck with it :ok

Re: Can't get stater motor off/

My petrol engined van used to 'click click' and it was the ignition switch on the steering column. Quite common on those by all accounts. My began to play up in deep France during our holiday

Re: Spray job gone wrong

As to painting the fibreglass high top, my guy used the same paint as the metalwork on mine. I queried this at the time, as I had expected it needing something different, but he reckoned it was ok, and after 14 months I can say it looks ok so far. And there you have it. If you are going on top of a...

Re: Spray job gone wrong

When i spoke of variants, I meant the shades of the actual colour, i.e the parent shade, and any child shade varients. Some vms like say, F-ord used around 5 shades of their Diamond white. You had no.1, but yellow, grey, etc variants so the paint would be mixed to the variant, simple as that really....

Re: Spray job gone wrong

When you say its been painted brilliant white, does it look like that because the high top has simply faded? What do the door shuts look like, against the new paint? I'm assuming these were not done of course. If there is a glaring difference then its not L90 white on the van. I don't think there we...

Re: Grips

I bought some Vise- grips from Toolstation last year and used them for welding work on my last camper van and they are still ok. Usually, the heat tends to muller the springs but they have held up well so far I could be wrong, but I always thought vise-grips were sold by Snap-on, as we used to buy t...

Re: Fridge Panel Repair

Take your time and be methodical and you'll be fine. One thing you might want to check so as to avoid future tears, is that front wheel-arch. I've replaced a few and they tend to hide rust underneath the factory sealer. I can see you've ground some areas off so that tells that you had rust bubbling ...

Re: T25 daunted newbie

Sorry to be putting more of a dampener on this but if the engine overheated, I'd make sure its sound before you fork out any more money on this. A replacement engine from one of the firms that supply such things will set you back a grand upwards, then there the carb issue plus all the other stuff me...

Re: JK middle sliding window

Why not contact JK and ask if they supply a cutting template with their unit? Perhaps, if they do come with a template, they might copy it for you so you could compare against what size aperture you have on your van. At least then you'd know for sure their window would do the job. And if they think ...

Re: JK middle sliding window

Could be that the window aperture hole has been cut incorrectly. There's not a huge amount of tolerance as it is and the JK one reads that it's suitable more for a factory conversion, not aftermarket, unless I've misunderstood it  You might get away with a building up a couple of layers of a f...
