Re: Failed Clutch

Modified the thrust bearing actuator arms(sorry probably the wrong name) and a modified support, for the Subaru thr...

Re: Failed Clutch

Direct-acting "concentric" slave cylinders are a PITA! Designed to generate lots of billable main dealer workshop hours on otherwise reliable cars. Stick with the external hydraulics, the slave will only last 5 years if you use the van a fair bit, fixable in an hour or spend all day pulli...

Re: Failed Clutch

Thanks, Aidan I will pass suggestions on to Doug. I think the bell housing is the RJES petrol one as at the time they were not interested in making one for diesel, so it is highly likely that is how I have ended up with what’s in there now. I will have to find out how big the RJES release-bearing ad...

Failed Clutch

An update on my failed clutch It appears that using the vw thrust bearing with the Subaru clutch plate has resulted in there being inadequate bearing on the thrust plate for the clutch fingers, this has allowed the thrust bearing to go through the centre or at least be gripped by the fingers which h...

Re: brakes-or rather lack of

Seems there's more than one style of the reservoir, are they interchangeable or specific to the cylinder underneath (can't tell from my photo if the cylinder is the same)? Mostly 8mm. If you're connecting to a tap manifold, check you don't need shouldered olives as opposed to conventional ones which may not fit properly. http://www.gasit.co.uk/8mm-shouldered-olive.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://peterbyrne.co.uk/clients/olives.jpg...

Re: Child’s buggy for use when away

We had the carrier like bat for our children, used it for all 4 then gave it away. Very comfortable, you can get rain covers for them or at least you could when ours were little. I've just bought one second hand for our grandson :) That's a photo lifted from E-Bay but I did have one very similar a ...
