Re: Recon engines?
If only engines were as reliable as the weather.......or old vans, or the economy... Seriously though, I've said it before but my Remtec has been in for 5 years, done 50,000km and never missed a beat. On that basis I would obviously recommend them. It depends on your budget; when I bought min...

Re: Water Temperature Gauge
Everything sounds about right to me. Gauge is doing what it should. Is the header tank full to the brim? Only take any notice of the expansion tank when it's stone cold.

Re: Stuck in Spain need distributor please help!
Try Karvan Furgonetas, based in Seville (or possibly Granada.. my memory's not what it was). They are the main T3 guys I know in Spain and it'll save any import / postal taxes at least. I'll try and find a link to them if you're struggling; get your garage to give them a bell - really good people

Get proper wheels and have done with it would be my advice.
Read all the info & tips on here and make up your own mind; but do it properly rather than on the cheap....

Pretty sure the pcd on a mk 4 is 5x100. I doubt they're strong enough for a van either

Re: Seat belts??
As I understand it, it's dependant on how your van is registered on the V5. If it says "motorcaravan" then you're ok, legally anyway. There's no restrictions on the use of rear seats with seatbelts in motorcaravans that would affect T3/T25s... You might, however, wish to install belts for ...

Re: Thoughts - not low profile stuff.
All I can think is that it's a pressure issue, although I would have thought there's not a massive difference in the sizes you've mentioned. It can depend on tyre brand - some are better than others, Is this absolutely the ONLY thing you've changed that's made your economy drop? How are you gauging ...

Re: Shotblasting Original Steel Wheels
Why do you want to fit spacers? VW spent years on working out the proper dimensions for the wheels on the vans they made; have you got a better idea? Seriously, leave well alone :ok If you want to lower it, then buy decent quality parts and go for it, but by sticking your wheels 25mm further out, yo...

Re: banded standard steel wheels for a T25
could get a set of syncro steels, they are 6" wide. I'm sure some merc steels come in 7"? if they do, just tack some clips on for the VW hubcaps. As for getting moaned at for alloys, thats when people fit wheels designed for beetles Top Advice, Merc steels come in all sorts of widths, 6, ...

Re: banded standard steel wheels for a T25
If you go down the alloy route then people will all moan saying the off set is wrong and spacers/adaptors are dangerous and wreck your bearings. No they won't; at least they won't if you do it properly. If you go down the Banded route - they may well, however, say bad things (and for good reasons -...
