Re: New stretch lining over old?

Quite often those old glues can be removed with acetone if you have stubborn patches. If you do use it - no sparks, wear gloves as it sucks all the greases from your skin and plenty of ventilation!

Re: Cooling system - overheating

That says to me lack of maintenance over many, many years not just 2k miles.
(I had a Frod engine that nearly got that bad, luckily I spotted it when refurbishing it before fitment)

Re: Wallasey desiel hob

Slow to heat up and heat output for heating is too high up, not at floor level. (According to a few people who have fitted one to their T6's )

Re: Valve Springs

I have had springs fail on a boat engine - the cause was uneven seating surface that wasn't evident when covered with black oil. In this case - who knows, possibly poor quality springs to begin with.

Re: Curtain rail recommendations

Are you trying to fit plastic ones? I had metal ones in my van, easy to fit to any contour - if any track needed adjusting if jamming it can be opened or closed slightly easy enough.

Re: Clutch lever

My thoughts are that after 6 years everything will have a veneer of rust, my remedy is to slip the clutch in gear to wear off the rust before looking for another cause.
