JX oil cooler
The JX has an oil cooler built into the filter mount housing? Is that right? Is there any mileage in adding an external cooler and can this be done using a 'sandwich' fitting? It doesn't appear to run hot but then the gauge doesn't appear reliable. Fans only come on occasionally and only after a bit...

Re: Mazda bongo
Why is it that a car needs to be unreliable before it can have soul? Lol.
It is true I have two with soul; defender and t25 and one completely souless audi a4 which is ultra reliable.

Re: Bonded windows in a t25
Bugger! Just looked a bit more closely , it is flat glass in profiled rubber into a curved panel. That would look really stupid if I stuck flat glass on it. Back to the drawing board. I think I'll get tinted glass cut to fit the existing holes possibly without the frames? I never use the noisey old ...

Re: Bonded windows in a t25
If done properly I thought the rotting window frame problem would be solved.

Re: Bonded windows in a t25
I've been on the phone today to a local guy who has recently fitted them to a mates defender. Im going to do this to mine after the bodywork. Might be finished by christmas. The guy said that he could, if I wanted, come out and cut panels to fit on site but would rather I left it with him.

engine hatch mod.
Saw a neat gas strut type engine hatch mod in one of the sheds at Busfest last weekend. It was either the five cylinder diesel or the Porsche Has anyone on here done similar as it looked a really easy way of lifting the mattress up and supporting it while you do quick checks and fix things. Unfortun...

Re: Andy's Atlantic (Wolfgang)
I was always impressed by this thread but having seen the van in the flesh last weekend you must be justifiably proud of it and the care you have taken to keep it original. If only Gill could allow me that much time and a shed, I'd still end up with a scruffy looking beige pop top.

Re: binding back brakes
Hydraulically there isn't much to go wrong. I've never had a hydraulic problem where the pressure has increased progressively due to non return usually leaks is the issue. From a complexity point of view the handbrake and the shoes themselves plus attendant springs, cables etc are far more likely to...
Re: new floor
Thanks kev I had worked that out lol.
new floor
Ok I've unearthed a long standing leak from the fresh water tank under the sink. Chipboard floor rotten and stinking but , on ripping it out, the steel looks OK. I've got a box of click laminate from B&Q for a tenner and want to know if it will bridge the ridges in the floor for a year or so whi...
