Re: Propex and drive

Basically what i said was wouldn't the exhaust fumes be sucked straight back up the inlet pipe? I don't think that the intake of exhaust would make much difference to the combustion in the heater. problem is a sensor in the intake of the unit which shuts it down if exhaust gases are present in intake

Re: Another tyre question for 9x16

Don't have an accident because those tyres aren't load rated for the T25. Been running on them for nearly 2years with a panel van with just a r&r bed inside. Can't see weight being to much of a trouble. 'technically' your tyres have to be rated to the max gross weight of the van, not what it we...

Re: Propex and drive

i had a propex in the front of my bay, only heating in van, never had a problem with 1000s of miles driven with regards to that bracket, i always thought you had to keep the inlet and exhaust far away from each other :? mine was a hs2000 and inlet and exhaust were on separate sides of van, im sure t...

Re: Strip light replacement

i think its all about what suits the individual, if you are never really off grid then tubes are not a problem, if you buy off the shelf tube replacements then you can halve the wattage, if you can work with leds and sort your own light internals then you can halve that wattage again each to his own...

Re: RA/SB engine option

im guessing yours is either straight off the turbo flange or on the pipe running front to back before the silencer

if you google euro2 it will show values emissions should be, a garage will be able to print out emission results

Re: RA/SB engine option

ive seen quite a few cats on the karmanns coming in from germany, they drop the emissions so the vans were allowed into some german cities but they also seem to drop the power as well usually this shape http://www.vw-t3-bus-shop.de/Media/Thumbs/0001/0001299-euro-2-gutachten-inkl-benotigenten-grosen-...

Re: Strip light replacement

my van had 9 tubes in it, replaced all inside components with led and the total power consumption is now negligible i would suggest that before anyone purchases ready built expensive led light fittings that they buy a small strip of the cheap adhesive leds off ebay to get an idea of the light....war...

Re: Brake lines - Talk to me

Yes and no, I'd like to understand / see the pipe run say from rear drum flexi, over trailing arm and to main union that goes to the front if the van. there is no rear drum flexi, its hard piped from drum to end of swing arm then connects to flexi where swing arm pivots, then hard piped to main uni...

Re: Toying with the idea, whats the benefits?

what he said /\ with a bigger rear tyre you could find yourself in-between gears all the time, one gear just not being enough and the next one being too much for the engine its all about trial and error after my tdi transplant i was running 255/55x18 rears to overcome the poor gearing of the 3H box,...

Re: intercooler placement

1. not life or death but nor was fitting a 1.9tdi in the first place 2. it will but it will perform much better with one 3. everywhere, all depends on your van and skills 4. most people use the one that came with the engine there are loads of build threads to peruse but ultimately it depends whether...

Re: Largest size to fit carrier?

i think you will find most people dont even think about the spare at all  lots of owners are driving around with non standard rims or running adapters oblivious to the fact that their shiny new wheel nuts wont fit the standard spare and the socket they carry to get their new wheels off wont fit...
