Thanks both.
Scottbott - did you keep the 'hard' nylon pipes from fuel filter back?
Cheers,
Stu

DG Fuel hose replacement - with diagram!
Hi All, As the age and provenance of the fuel hoses on my van are unknown to me, I am going to do the prudent thing and replace them all. I have read the Wiki and performed various searches on here, but am still a bit unclear on diameters and type of hoses required. To assist my (and hopefully other...

Re: Leaky fuel tank?
The OP's story sounds very familiar to me. I picked my van up two weeks ago. The fuel level was very low, so I drove 2 minutes to a petrol station down the road and filled it up - doing my usual of letting it click off, then rounding it up to the nearest pound. I took the hose out and noticed fuel p...

Oil Filler Pipe - top part - where to buy
Hi all,
The rubber top part (that the oil cap screws into) has split in my 1.9 DG and leaks slightly as a result. I've Googled hi and low and can't find a source for these - usual suspects don't seem to list them.
Can anyone help me by pointing me in the direction of a supplier?
Many thanks,
Stu

Re: 1.9DG Ignition Conversion
Thanks for that. I'm going to make the fuel tank etc the priority - don't want the new purchase up in flames! So, new fuel lines and close inspection of the tank and connections. Mine was exactly the same - filled til it clicked (£67 - ouch!) and then OCD kicked in and I tried to round up to the nea...

Re: 1.9DG Ignition Conversion
Thanks again Em - I noticed JK listing that dizzy, which then made me think "wonder whether it's a known problem if conversions are sold by them"..!

Yes, that was in the bag of bits.
I said to my Dad the comment about "you know where you are with points" - his reply was "yes, you do, normally at the side of the road"!
Thanks both

1.9DG Ignition Conversion
Hi All, The previous owner of my T25 converted the ignition from the original electronic ignition to traditional points -saying that "you know where you are with points". This seems to me (as someone with zero old-VW experience) to be a bit counter-intuitive. Is there a known issue with th...

Newbie 'hi' and Mystery Plug
Hi All, Firstly.. new to T3 ownership having picked up my '86 1.9(DG) panel van (Christened 'Jasper' by my better half) this weekend. Thanks for an awesome source of info :ok There are a few things I need to work on - but these are in hand thanks to searching on here. One thing that is a mystery, is...
