Re: Chrome cleaning and protecting

Hmm the caps clean up really well to a lovely finish...(to a degree) the post was more of a query as to anyway to provide a bit of sealing to slow the rust process a little better and protect what is there. Autosol was one of the first options I saw when googled so if someone has experience of that ...

Chrome cleaning and protecting

Hi, I've been cleaning my chrome hub caps with aluminium (or aluminum) foil to remove bits of rust, then using a generic car polish to try & protect. Not really working as they've started to go rusty only 2 weeks after I cleaned them. So what are people using on Chrome caps, bumpers etc? Anyone ...

Re: Double front seat

Have you got anywhere with the ducato seats? I was looking at these on eBay a while back as we have a baby on the way and wanted a slightly bigger/better/safe double seat up front.

Not actually seen any in the flesh to go over, just wondered if you had.

Re: Recommend a charger

I bought a CTEK MXS 5.0 earlier in the year. It's been great (not that I have any experience), well made and has certainly charged my battery a few times. I made an additional purchase of a battery indicator and connector...it was only a few quick and permanently connects to the battery. The other e...

Re: Starting problems after jump start

Fixed it :ok Turns out there is a leaking diesel spill off hose which was causing air to get in and allowing fuel to run back into the tank leaving nothing to fire the engine. Seems that bleeding the fuel system to get rid of air requires a good old turn on the starter motor before it gets going. I ...

Re: Starting problems after jump start

Darn, the jump start method wasn't a success.

So will start looking at connection terminals and perhaps continue to removing and getting a visual on it all and checking it over.

Bit more confident that I'm focusing on what seems to be the right area.

Re: Starting problems after jump start

Hmm battery could be a possible. It's been on the charger (ctek) for a day but after a few turns on the ignition the battery goes flat pretty quick (I'd say 4 good turns and flat). Worth a charge cycle on the recondition setting? If I were to jump start it from my car and it started would that sugge...

Starting problems after jump start

Hi, got a jump start at work the other week, got home and the next time I wanted to use the van it won't start. Having little to no mechanical skills I can only think the starter motor has balked it. Turning the ignition I get the whir but no mechanical engagement sound. Just wondering if its not th...

Re: Rusty Lee RnR

Thanks Phil. Good to hear and nice to know someone has seen them in the flesh.

I did look at bluebirds but thought the seat base just seemed a little too deep. Volkswares look pretty good but heard that the mesh can rattle a bit.

All variation of a theme with positives and negatives I suppose.

Rusty Lee RnR

Has anyone put a Rusty Lee RnR bed into a T25? They seem very popular with split and bay owners and the price looks very competitive compared to the usual T25 RnR suppliers. They say their bed fits a T25 but having done a search on here nothing came back (apart from lots of rust related posts). Gran...

Re: JX Oil Filter Housing Gasket Replacement

Yep did it at the weekend and was pretty straight forward. I did buy all the seals and also some dirko sealant. All went back together nicely and seemed to have cured the leak....although only had it idling at the moment so will need to take out for a drive.

JX Oil Filter Housing Gasket Replacement

Hi, Going to attempt to replace the above gasket today but just wondering if anyone has any tips or lessons learnt from doing this. Is it just a simple break down of filter, cooler, sensor, housing or am I going to find something difficult? I've tried a number of searches but not found anything on h...
