Re: Making the pull out bed part in a high top.

No problem Jon.
Yes pics would be good, always nice to see before, during and after shots. :D

The carpet on the roof is fun as well, we insulated ours with bubble foil and then carpeted over with Megavanmats carpet and glue.

Re: Making the pull out bed part in a high top.

Yours is the slightly lower one than ours. Your halfway there with that rear platform. If you run a thick wooden frame from the platform to the front of the van going under the windows, you can then use a roughly 2 foot piece of ply that slides out and rests on that. To stop it moving when in bed po...

Re: RIGHT STUDS ?

They look to be identical to mine, that's why I put the link up.
VW made 2 options for the T3 Carrots and Atiwe (pepperpots). Could be others but not sure.
Had mine on a few years no messing with spacers or extended studs and load rated, think I changed the studs from the steel wheel studs.

Re: Making the pull out bed part in a high top.

Hi Jon, We put a Sheldon on ours last year and done this with out too much problem. What type of Sheldon roof do you have? (there are two similar shapes) Do you have the wooden outer frame that sits inside the roof? Do you have windows in the roof? We had to feed the wood in through the windows. I c...

Re: Diamond RV Conversion 1984 advice on replacing hammocks etc

Hi,
I think you have answered your own question really.
The bed using the rear part of the original roof sounds the best choice, just depends much space there is for height.
Its easy to have a fixed board with a sliding part that comes out to provide the right length, all goes back during the day.

Re: Vw T25 windows

Hi,
I don't think there is anything, the glass seal should meet the contour of the door.
Also it may depend on if your door has a factory window or after market.

For my coolant I use a sports drink bottle with ready mixed water and anti freeze, just squeeze into the tank.

Re: t25 drivers swivel seat

Not all vans have a swivel seat base.
If it has one there will be a lever just under the front of the seat which should push down/pull up.

Re: Swivel base and seat belt anchors

As already said, there was a shorter one available. I changed the one on ours coz I kept forgetting to lower the longer one. There was a bit one the brick yard a few years ago: http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/cranked-t3-seatbelt-stalk-needed_topic65026.html Although a bit old at least there is a p...

The ones in Aldi are quite popular.
Its a Maxtek model with Bluetooth etc
I picked one up before xmas at the local branch for £35, it also has the SD card slot which is what I will be using.

Re: KAMPER CI poptop dilema

Hi Stuart,
The easy solution would be to replace the poptop with a hightop.
They come up here and there for not that much money.
If the rest of the van is as good as you say and your happy with it the roof can be sorted one way or another.
Depends on the price of the van really.

Try megavanmats, I got mine from there.
There may be others but their stuff is really good.
