Re: How to Clean Out T25 Petrol tank flakes of rust

Hello, i had my tank off last year to give it a good clean and a paint up, on removal i peeked inside to find a load of tar like black sludge, i ended up replacing the tank for peace of mind, it was well rusty too so thought it the best way to go. It might be worth you doing the same.

Hello Mate, try Aidan Talbot, he uses this forum and also has a website, he's a T3 gearbox specialist. Possibly in North Wales, but i don't quite remember!

Re: overheating engine

It might be worth removing the belt(s) from the water pump and alternater, and checking by hand if the water pump and alternater pulleys arent stiff due to worn bearings, they should turn quite freely by hand.

Re: Tips on new radiator

Thanks Martin, i'll see if i can source a new bher here in Finland, i'm using the old one at the mo which has a tiny intermittent leak at the bottom corner. The van runs a tad hot on not so steep inclines(i'd imagine on some proper UK hills the gauge would continue to rise) and then the gauge return...

Re: Tips on new radiator

I think i'm gonna bite the bullet and shell out for a new one, i'm not sure of the sales of goods act here in Finland, plus i've lost the receipt  Could you recommend a good rad manufacturer for these vans? At least a rad that comes with a metal bolton for bleeding, would bher be any good? :D

Re: Tips on new radiator

Yes i used a very small o ring, it was the plastic thread in the rad that gave up against the new metal bolt, it just kept turning and turning.

Re: Tips on new radiator

I bought a new rad last year made by a company in Denmark called Nissens, i paid around 140 Euros for it, it looked like a quality well built rad apart from the bleed screw was plastic with a slotted head for a screwdriver, of course its impossible to get a screwdriver in there when the rad is in si...

Re: Jx injectors

When i had my injectors out there were only flame traps in there and no copper washers, its the first i've heard of copper washers used as well as flame traps.

Re: 1.6td engine code JR missing turbo

Theres a fair difference in performance between the 1.6 TD and the none turbo 1.6, i was in the same boat, i bought a donor van for its engine and had it rebuilt, it's now a 1.6TD, much happier with the performance, still no race car but theres a bit more oomph there now. I haven't heard of the JR e...

Re: Finding gears like stirring soup

Just done mine too with same kit, i also replaced the ally guide blocks as they were well worn, the linkage bushes and i replaced the selector cup, gear change is now spot on, worth the investment.

Theres a full how to in the wiki provided by covkid.

The orange book you mention is probably the Just Kampers manual, you'll be able to find it on their website.

I think it's possible to fix her up on a budget if your willing to do the work yourself, one section at a time working methodically. :D

Re: jx injection pipes arrangement

Hello mate, when i was refitting my pump and pipes i was unsure which way they went back on as i hadn't marked them, i posted my query on here, Simon Baxter kindly replied with they only go on one way, on refitting i found this was the case, unless you've got any pipes very twisted or really had to ...
