Re: Solar joy
I'm sure you've read about photonic universe for solar controllers Well they sell excellent quality panels and complete kits. I've had mine in constant use for several years now. The technology hasn't changed much or the quality. I highly recommend them. Amazon isn't a specialist, it's just a market...

Re: Supply and fit rebuilt 2.1 engine
Fitting a 2.1 is quite a simple affair and ssome good garages will take it on.
Have an hour on the phone and ask if they would.
Or if they know somebody.
There are a few engine suppliers on here.

So when you depress the accelerator to set the choke and cold idle before cranking, the fast idle screw is not resting on the top step?

Re: Vibrating air heater exhaust
Interesting. Yes the howl decreases with time. I was thinking it might be temp related or more mixture related. As on start up the pump is working hard and the air flow is low. So Im assuming the flame is bigger, less stable and this causes the pulse jet type noise. Then as the fan speed picks up it...

The heater is mounted on its side under the van in a box. I think that maybe the burner can produce a resonating flame. Whi...

Re: DG engine real b*gger to start
My first elimination would be fuel. Mixture test You'll need to use a gas analyser for that. MOT garages will oblige for a small fee. Don't twiddle the mixture screw! You can set it to 2.5 turns out from stop. ignition. An engine will readily start if the ignition is in the ballpark. Power comes fro...
