That has been my plan to be honest. The leak is pretty small, but leaks onto the exhaust, which is just annoying as it stinks. I can't find the tinware anywhere for over the cylinders. Brickwerks have one side, but not the other. It is expensive from Brickwerks (as it should be). I've asked on here...

Keep the 2ltr , you really need a different gearbox to suit the 1700, less torque low down more revvy

Most air cooled have Small leaks, it will still be an unknown

I’ve bought both cheap and expensive, cheap ones slightly noisier but was on mine for 12 years with no issues, I’ve fitted a few and no issues with any of the cheap ones

You can change them without removing the heads but you have to cut the push rod tubes and replace with telescopic ones

If you present it for the MoT with the bed out they can't test them! Or look for them. ( there are no seats then ) This did actually cross my mind. I'm now wondering how I'm fixed as the fail is now on the system I can't simply take it somewhere else surely! You can take it back for retest they wil...

If you have a high top the gutters are different to a tin top , pretty sure AH Schofields sell replacement gutters

it can be done on situe , if its a ve pump a seal kit is around 30, brickwerks etc sell them

The twin tip gt one doesn’t fit ( unless they have modified it within the last few months , it touches the rear valance a lot , stock ones are pretty good, the vintage speed ones tend to get crazy hot and burn the paint off the valance
