Lower Ball Joint
Here we go, I have a vague recollection that the lower ball joints on a 2wd T3 look like they are worn out when you jack up the van on the bottom wishbone, ie it becomes uncompressed, so when you remove the jack, it all squeezes back up together. Due for mot and noticed the movement yesterday so not...

Its at times like this the dodoka would be so good to have around still. How many years since it was around? 10 maybe.

i use 215/60/16 tyres on merc toliman alloys on a 2l cu Aircooled van. No problems with gearing and runs really well with this combination.

Re: Changing wheels on lowered van
Well I changed to 7.5 x 16 Mercedes Toliman alloys with 215 60 16 tyres and it rides and handles better than the standard setup. Gearing is almost identical and the old 2litre Aircooled works well with it. It looks "right" as well.

Re: EWP (electric water pump) radiator
Drove a couple of hundred miles over the weekend mid wales, ok it wasnt off road but lots of long slog hills, and the temperature difference to prior fitting was incredible, In fact I had to dial up the cut in temperature to 90c as it was running a bit too cold!! think it probably needs a couple mor...

Re: EWP (electric water pump) radiator
Thanks Ian. took the van out and gave it a good 10 mile run and the temperature keeeps low now. If it sits idling for a long period the standard low fan cuts in as it should. Have now conected up the extra auxillary electric fan thru a relay controlled via the digital EWP unit, so see how it goes. A...

Re: EWP (electric water pump) radiator
Well the waterflow with the extra pump in series with the existing mechanical pump really apears to shift the water around more, judging by the header tank movement. It cant be a bad thing as there is a temperature sensor that cuts the EWP in and down as needed. I think its always been an issue with...

EWP (electric water pump) radiator
As a few of you know, ive fought (and lost) an ongoing battle with overheating on my Syncro. Talking to a few people around Busfest and other places, I came to the realisation that the problem was'nt so much radiator size, but water flow too and from the radiator. So I have just installed an EWP (el...

Re: Only Mercedes rims in here!
I use the Toliman 16 x 7 with 205/80/16 Kumho A/T venturer tyres with 10mm spacers front and back on my Syncro (I think 10mm spacers but may be 6mm) great fit. On my 2WD I use 7.5 x 16 Tolliman with the bigger offset and 20mm spacers front and back and 215/60/16 tyres, again great fit and looks. htt...
