Re: Alternator output

The regulator inside the alternator presets the charging voltage. It may well have given up the ghost resulting in no output. Your best bet is to order a new regulator and swap yours out. The regulator generally fails way before the alternator does. :wink: Its held on the back of the alternator with...

Re: radiator fan

And particularly with high speed, look above the earth crowns as theres a relay on a bracket. Its fairly common for the connections on it to corrode in a similar way to the earth crown.

Re: Blower cutting out for while then working again?

The motor itself won't cut in and out but a poor connection in the circuit could do it.

Re: Starter battery drained - Split Charge?

It could just simply be a faulty regulator anyway. Certainly the cheapest fix and best to try that first.

Re: Starter battery drained - Split Charge?

Try changing regulator for a 14.5v rather than the 14v one as an interim measure. Otherwise: http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/VW ... ain_cables" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Front Wiper Motor(s)

WD40 dispels water, but despite its claims is not much use as a lubricant, and useless on things like rusted bolts. I use GT85 (teflon additive) or Plusgas to persuade stuck items but 3-in1 oil, silicone spray or grease is best for general maintenance. WD40 is more reliant on its branding for sales....

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

All rather ambitious. There are no RAL equivalents of VW colours, certainly not for the T25. You either have rustoleum mixed for you or settle for something close in RAL colours. You also can't roller any particulate-based paints like matt or flake without making a dogs dinner of it. Straight gloss ...

Re: Front Wiper Motor(s)

My experience of electric motors is once they have an excessive load on them for a period of time (ie partially seized spindles) it tends to knock the guts out of them anyway.

AngeloEVS probably your best bet here. I wonder if its possible to run it in a simulator.
