Re: Did Vw Line bore there own stamped DJ rebuilds?
10 mins is not enough for hot oil but your figures imply it's not too bad or it's a wiring fault so I'd say safe to give it a run for 20 mins and test again if not too bad get it stinking hot and test again. Does seem like if we wait long enough the NLA unicorns will come back to graze. In the meant...

Re: Did Vw Line bore there own stamped DJ rebuilds?
I just checked min order is 1000 sets at 75 euros a set. You would have thought thats not a huge sum for a Company like Heratige or Brickwerks. Can make 100% profit on that.

Re: Did Vw Line bore there own stamped DJ rebuilds?
Strip it and measure up. even if main bearings are NLA they may be good enough to reuse. Mains seem to last well, built like brick "pooh". People tubo these up to several hundred BHP

Re: Did Vw Line bore there own stamped DJ rebuilds?
Big ends and bearings are often ok. so even if line bored you might be OK reusing bearings.
Cam bearing usually knackered.
I Rebuilt a DJ with all new bearings but still has lower oil pressure than I'd like, only just in spec and I think it could be tappet bores worn. nobody sleeves them it seems.

Adjustment 15-9 it's a 2.1 manual but this part is the same as is a lot of it. http://syncrosport.com/info/manual/VW_Transporter_80-92_2-1_Mechanics.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I like the internal bearing puller idea :ok Going to steal your picture :D you need to rep...

Re: Changing the rear (pulley end) crankshaft oil seal (DG)
I just use a large screwdriver and brute force, you can punch the seal with a pin punch or screwdriver too to distort it as you can see which helps to break the seal to the block https://itchyfeetuk.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/p1060088.jpg and fitting new... https://itchyfeetuk.files.wordpress.com/2...

A mate of mine has an engineering company with a nice collection of Charmille machines, amongst them - https://www.gfms.com/country_UK/en/Products/EDM/wire-cut-edm/micro-machining/cut-1000.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Should be accurate enough... 8) I drew it as I m...

Re: Adjusted tappets, now won't start!
When you adjust WBX hydraulic tappets with a 2 turn preload as per the manual it won't start ( no compression) for at least a few hours until they have drained back down to equilibrium. Best left overnight and it will be fine. No manual tells you this probably because you are not supposed to do this...

Re: Early DG - Crankshaft Oil Thrower problem (pulley end)
It's a crude piece of engineering. you don't even need it but you may get more oil leaking through a worn seal. Just make one similar. Sad but I wonder how many people nowadays would have the skill set to get anywhere close to make one :? I do and coupd do it at home with simple tools. you could bu...

This^^^^ never had a problem myself but I usually jack from the swing arm.
