people don't talk about security issues on their vans as they do get stolen .
If your locks are that bad then yes they need sorting , change barrels .

so your starting battery is where ?, cause normally starter is under drivers and leisure under the passenger.
understand your apprehension about electrics but it's not that hard and would save you a few bob, the diagram in the wiki link is straight forward enough

seems strange that a leisure battery is fitted without a split charge system , is it under passenger seat ? and are there any other electrics in there ? it could be just a blown fuse in the split charger . Do a search for split charge , a few threads on this . Oh and glad you enjoyed the camping :D ...

my 1.9DG will roll along in first on tickover when I need to, I often have to drop the clutch to slow it down in traffic jams ,brakes or hills will stall it .

i have seen the screw hiding behind the heat (lol) control. apart from that i dont think theres much to worry about. but i will keep you posted, i'll shout out the window as your very local :ok and i will keep an eye out for you. I used an 300mm extension bar on a ratchet with a #3 phillips socket ...

glad I read this , I ordered some new keys from VW commercial 3 weeks ago and forgot about it will go and pick them up tomorrow They only have blanks that you can get cut , doesn't really help you as you don't have the originals . someone on here does sell barrels and keys I believe ,this may be you...
