As I'm coming to the UK on Weds I'll grab a couple of these. How many does one require for the full van (8 windows)?

will have what they call a dry joint - Sorry but that's the last thing that you want! A dry joint is a defective solder joint and looks "dry" i.e. it has a matt finish to the solder. A good solder joint looks bright and shiny. A dry joint is likely to fail over time. Suedehead - If you re...

Does the solenoid clunk when you turn the key? If not then you need to trace the voltage to the solenoid, if you have power to the solenoid then it's the solenoid. If the solenoid clunks then you need to check the big lead from the battery to the solenoid, if thats okay it's the solenoid. After that...

I suppose on some vans it allows for a power steering pump and air conditioning pump. Maybe (now I could be wrong on this) caravelles have extra pulleys for this reason, whereas the transporter just has to run the alternator and water pump usually so it just has the one. My transporter just has the...

For safety reasons. If you are running a feed from the battery forward, I would put a fuse as close to the battery as possible.

I have two 6mm2 cables coming from the battery to feed the lights, I placed a 4 way fuse box in the engine bay.

It is a fire hazard to have a long length of unfused cable.

I had something very similar with mine, it looked like it was losing water. The level in the first tank would drop and the red LED would flash. I changed everything that you have changed, it turn out to be a cracked head. The combustion gases were pressurising the cooling system and forcing the leve...
