Re: Rear Springs Replacement - Compression Tool
Never had to disconnect a CV to get the spring off the arm, perhaps trying to fit a taller spring might require that? Once the shocks off sometimes a bit of a boot with the foot to push it down a bit (make sure its jacked up and on stands before jumping around on things!) as the arms a bit stiff on ...

Perhaps either dodgy terminal connector on the solenoid, solenoid itself, or as others have said the bush in the bell housing.

Re: Front passenger grease cap keeps coming off...
I found with my new speedo cap that it popped off all the time, but because it was a tight fit I had to beat it on with a rubber mallet so it stayed on, otherwise it wouldn't sit where it should on the wheel.

I have him on ignore. But if he's left of his own accord then that's only improved the place, seemed like a very bitter person.
Going back to the topic at hand. I do know of a VW specialist in Todmorden GavW, but it's a bit of a journey and I'm not sure what his turnaround time is like.

I don't think the seasons can cure or are the reasons for being a "extremely nice personage", or make it acceptable
I was gonna say rearrange those letter to your own desires, but it seems there a filter for that already .

Re: Water in oil sump.
Our engines are a bit notorious for head studs snapping if they haven't been looked after as they sit in the water jacket. Finding a garage to take that on will be few and far between as it's a job that will take a while and most places want quick turnarounds and nobody can be arsed with old vehicle...

Re: Water in oil sump.
You're probably looking at least a top end rebuild for the engine, as for what has failed.. could be a few things. I'd speak to ajsimmo on here, hes one of the resident engine builders, maybe he could give you an idea for costs but with most things like this without having it infront of you that's...

Re: Cooling system - overheating
I will say I had some new adjusters from either brickwerks or heritage as I thought it would make sense to do with a rebuild. After a month or so I had the loud tapping, so thought adjustement was needed. Opened up the cover and two of them did this.. although not as bad. They don't seem to be very...

Re: Replacing Camper Floor
When I redid my floor after some welding work I sound deadened the lower ribs and then closed cell foam over the entire floor. I stuck the ply back over the top then put some carpet down up to the units but not under them. The carpet can be easily taken out and cleaned or just chucked if it gets too...
