Re: Solar panel question
My monkey brain recalls them being 24v panels .. but I doubt I'll get the factory rated outputs. If the weather is sunny tomorrow I'll have to have a play and see what I can get out of them. I've got some wiring to shorten and sort out.. and cut the edge on one at least..

Re: Solar panel question
You can trim , but dont go too close to the cells, especially with those fibreglass panels, they are prone to cracking anyway . I would be tempted to only trim the inner where the two panels touch on one of them Thanks for the input chaps. Yeah that was my plan to just trim as little as possible so...

Solar panel question
Now this might be a stupid question and might be best to ask the manufacturer, but has anyone trimmed the edges of a solar panel? the flexible type that is. I've bought a second panel to go on the van. Same wattage, same company but annoyingly its a different size to the other one. When I say trimmi...

Re: Cooling system - overheating
Thanks guys for your chat and stories. Sorry, missed these - had a few bereavements during the winter... My engine is being rebuilt as we speak, and hopefully will be back on the road by end of Feb. Had the camper for 18 years, and it has never been off the road for more than a couple of weeks. Co...

Re: Help identify a coolant junction
Bear in mind theres an early late and a late late, if that makes sense, the hose that goes to the head is moved over on the late one, as in the early has the head hose opposite the large rad hose and the late has it opposite the heater one, so if you get the wrong one you need to swap the hose as we...

Re: Strange knocking sound
Worth checking that the shock bolts are tight, I had an intermittent knocking noise and after scratching about found that was the cause for me.

Re: Antifreeze, which one?
I'd drain the system, flush it with distilled water, drain again and fill with new coolant, saves mixing by accident.
Whatever distilled water left over will be reet with whatever coolant you put in.
The concentrated one will need to be mixed with distilled water anyway so kills two birds etc.

Re: Water jet hose driver side fell though :( help
You gotta be flexible but you can do it without taking the dash out  . Bit of solid wire down the hole from the outside, contort yourself into a pretzel and find the pipe. wrap the wire round the end of the pipe tightly.. slowly draw it up and have a small screwdriver or pick ready to pull the ...

Re: Identifying / replacing sliding windows
Nice, I had no idea the factory windowed vans has different size windows between early and late. You've a factory window van as your rear windows are flush with the bodywork... that or someone went to the trouble of retrofitting them in. If you need a hand with it I can be up here when the weather g...

Re: I broke my T3! 0 compression
Personally I've set them counter clockwise and also clockwise. I find it easier to go counter because one and two are on the same bank so I can do that side, fit the cover then work on three and four. Makes no difference as long as your TDC on whatever cylinder you're doing right?

Re: I broke my T3! 0 compression
As Aidan says. The firing order is 1.4.3.2.
So you start tdc number one, then you can either clockwise rotate 180 for number 4 etc or counter clock wise for 2 etc
