Re: AAZ injector refresh

The heater plugs fail and disintegrate

You need to clean all the carbon etc off the washer , they get well stuck in, I usually put podger bar down the middle and do big circles , they generally come free

Re: Petrol in the engine case.

Thanks for all the replies so far appreciated it. So I've been advised by my mate who is a mechanic to go back to a mechanical fuel pump to eliminate the electric fuel pump as that's the way vw intended it to be! https://youtube.com/shorts/IQ2pBGMW7c4?si=IicgdEZjyk6swUBV https://youtu.be/AaXaLk0QD6...

uniqueinteriors wrote: 27 Jan 2024, 08:00 Yes I have fitted a filter king with gauge. I have bypassed at the moment to check the flow of petrol. Plenty of that. What is the correct psi?

Of hand it’s 2.5 psi, but I would need to double check I remembered right

Re: Thermostat

in the current temp the thermostat may not open from just idling, the thermostat regulates the water to the radiator the heater is within the engine cooling and doesnt need the thermostat to open, try leaving it running for an hour without the heater fan on or take it for a drive

Re: I broke my T3! 0 compression

I would say the valves aren’t set correctly The way I did it was I put the crank at TDC for cylinder 1, then I finger tightened the tappets, tightened them 1.5 more turns and then locked them in place with the nut. I then did a 1/2 turn counter clockwise and repeated for cylinders in order. Did I d...

Re: I broke my T3! 0 compression

I then did a 1/2 turn counter clockwise and repeated for cylinders in order. pretty sure the procedure is rotate 180' clockwise and iirc you adjust them in firing order so 1 - 4 - 3 - 2 where 1 is front right looking from rear, 2 is rear right, 3 is front left and 4 is rear right, if you mix up dir...
