Don't use any gasket seal on the sump or the filler
Make sure both mating surfaces are nice and clean
Work grease into your cork gasket and don't over tighten the nuts/bolts better a little slack than over tightened and stripped

It's a very common problem on the digi mk2s
The earth has to be a very good connection
ecu's are cheap as chips for the golfs unfortunately I would imagine like everything for the t25 it will be expensive

You have defiantly blown the ecu.......it's the same thing on golf mk2 running digi On the golf there is a earth that goes to gearbox which is usually overlooked when the gearbox as been off clutch etc, if not replaced it blows something in the ecu which causes the injectors to run constantly ,if wh...

The clash reporting back for duty....sir ! Defiantly no hole on the smaller end of the insert ..there is now though ,I managed to force a small needle through the end not an easy task. Very odd that it must of left factory like that no wonder I could never sort over choking from cold fingers crossed...

Cheers cj going to go and try it now and report back Itchy it does run exactly the same its just when first started from cold the revs are high till you blip throttle doesn't over choke engine though so leaving it without insert for now till I get to the bottom of 'is there a hole isn't there a hole...

Kev it drives exactly the same with insert in or out
Itchy does your insert have a hole at both ends because mine as a hole at larger end and no hole at smaller end if you look at pics u can see
I've had a needle down it but it's solid metal at the end

Vac pipe Brass insert
Changed the vac pipe on choke pulldown unit and got the tiny brass insert out of the old pipe , on closer inspection there seems to be a hole at the larger end and no hole at the other end :shock: is this right cause how can it suck any vacuum ? My mk2 golf does this common fault usually the clocks have intermittent fault
If temp gauge reads ok and water levels are ok I wouldn't worry

Mates alternater belt snapped on his JX he as a belt in front of it running crank pulley to waterpump pulley so we need to take this belt off to install the alternater (waterpump to alternater) belt , question is where or how is the front belt tensioned
