Re: Eberspacher D2L wont turn off
The German manual I was working from is the same as that here http://www.t3-infos.de/images/Eberspaecher_B2L_D2L.pdf Page 18 has the details on how to make a test lead to bypass the control thermostat and the following pages have a troubleshooting guide but in german. Google translate useful as is O...

Re: Brakes
Check no kinks in the vacuum hose too. Mine (not original T25 engine) has a bit of rubber vacuum hose coming from the pump and non return valve about 8" long. This then bends round to connect to the rigid hose coming out of the bulkhead. The rubber hose sometimes collapses at the bend and I get...

Re: Eberspacher D2L wont turn off
Are you using the three way switch on thermostat next to the ashtray to turn it on/off? If so do the leds still light up when in centre (off) position? If so sounds like dodgy thermostat unit but I don't think the early ones are too complicated inside. What happens if you turn thermostat to lowest s...

Re: Fridge help!
I got one stored away - could drop off for a tenner Thurs eve or perhaps some evening next week as often work in Slough. PM me if interested.
Does the rest of your fridge work? Was just wondering if there was a reason the door was missing.

Re: daft rm184 fridge question ?
Button should stay in and release when another selected.
But the latch can break and they won't stay in. Think there was a thread earlier in the year about someone with a fix. Seems bad luck if all three of yours have gone rather than just one button.

Re: RM184EGI WESTY FRIDGE BUTTON NOT ENGAGING
As Middle29 says the plastic on that switch will most likely have broken slightly so won't latch. Think it is a bit that springs into the metal frame around the plastic. You can actually run the fridge on gas like this. You need to keep the round button pressed down as usual and hold down the square...

Have not tried them myself but what about a tacho app for a smartphone? The phone listens to the engine tone and from the frequency should be able to calculate the rpm. You'd at least have to tell it it is a four cylinder maybe other parameters. I used to (and probably still have) hand held tachos t...

Re: 81 Westy brown interior edge trim
Hi Me again Am sure I saw some advertised somewhere recently when I was looking for something else completely unrelated. Trouble is I can't think where :-( Just had a quick search and this one may be too far away for shipping http://www.busdepot.com/255070184br Or try browsing this website http://ww...

Re: JX TD Oil switch wire colour
My JX wiring diagram does not list the colours :-( Bentley suggests Blue/Black and if the yellow has red on it too it is probably the temp sender. But take a look at https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/brickwerks-blog/vw-t3-oil-pressure-switches/ It mentions a second switch for later vans with yellow on it...

Re: Rear drum castle nut
Thanks for that. I,m sure you can,t remove the drum with it on though surely? Drum should come off fine without touching that nut. You might need to back off the adjusters through the inspection hole in the backplate and maybe give a tap with a hammer to break any rust seal if they have not been to...

Re: Hose from coolant filler tank to header tank size
Managed to track down a second hand reservoir so no need for me to attempt repair of the old one now .
Confirmed with ETKA the hose is 7mm just like the main fuel hose so will see what I can find if the new one does not come with long enough hose.

Re: Hose from coolant filler tank to header tank size
Thanks Ralph
Would that be 7mm ID hose?-
Am trying to picture how wide the spigot was before it snapped off. HAve a feeling that 6mm tank connector I linked to may be too small but as it is not under pressure it should not be too difficult to seal.

Hose from coolant filler tank to header tank size
Anyone know the diameter of the thin coolant hose that goes from the expansion/filler tank behind the number plate to the pressurized header tank. This is for a diesel but suspect petrol watercooled the same. My water pump pulley bearing has worn out and the wobbles caused the serpentine belt come o...

Camping right now and have tape measure so can measure mine. Westy kitchen unit is 900mm wide and bed when down comes up to it . The front face of the seat base is about 350mm behind the kitchen unit, and the cabinet behind the kitchen unit between seat and wall is about 420mm deep. The kitchen unit...
