Oil Pressure Problem?
1.9 DG 1986 Lpg conversion Hi Couple of trips out now with the van, after a lengthy lay up. Previous Owner renowned for being creative with wiring.. so the oil pressure light on the dash doesn’t seem to work. But there is a ‘additional’ light in the dash to the right hand side which is wired to the ...
Re: Awning
So bought a 3m length of rail to attach to my hi top. Will use Sikaflex and also nit and bolt through to spreader washers with stainless bolts. Due to the hi top interior, the area at the ends of the rail are not accessible from the inside, so my question is what self tappers/ screws have people use...
Re: Awning
I used Sikaflex to bond the hitop to the van, but appreciate the rail would have more of a shear force and so....
If I have to fasten would probably go with stainless bolts through with spreader plates on the inside.
Don’t like the idea of sticking holes in 30+ year old fibre glass though..!!

Awning
So, maiden voyage over, after 18 months of restoration..! Van really ran well.. bought a Vango faros low awning, fixed with pole and clamp into the gutter.. Couple of gripes, the pole seemed to stop the rain flowing down the gutter, hence leaked inside the awning, also as faros awning has the awning...

Re: Tailgate not sitting right after fitting new seal
During the vans refurb I replaced the majority of the tailgate seal track. Then tried fitting a new seal and found it fouling the tailgate at the side, thus holding it proud. It would still latch properly. Bought a different profile seal from seals direct and now fits perfectly. But if you haven’t m...

Re: Warm up time 1.9dg
Is it a full drain down to remove ( or in my case add I think) the thermostat.. Tempted to leave as it is until after the weeks holiday.. Fingers crossed she will be okay, knowing my luck will sort the thermostat ( warm up speed ) and then maybe find the reason it was removed.. lol Gotta love these ...

As I have found numerous times already putting things back to where they should be results in a proverbial can of worms opening up..

Re: Warm up time 1.9dg
Gauge takes an age to move.. could be a sender fault of course.. have an IR temp checker, so might do that.. Heater also takes an age to warm ( know that isn’t thermostat controlled). Thermostat seems an easy change... I have a new water pump to fit as well, but seems that’s not that straightforward!!

Warm up time 1.9dg
Hi,
What should the warm up time be for this engine?
Mine seems to take age..!!
It wouldn’t surprise me if there was no thermostat fitted, but before taking things apart though would ask what is normal..
