That place is Epic, we went last year on the way up to the Glen Coe Mountain rescue event. If you follow the river there are some nice crossings and tricky little sections that are quite fun to drive.
They are not all flimsy, the German style ones with the fold down table are usually the best quality ones and can be really useful. That's the one I have (LHD version, but fine for RHD too) Have you got any pictures of it fitted? I am interested to see how this would work on a right hand drive van....

Wouldn't you consider 15" rims as you need new tyres Shaun? You could add a deeper tyre like a 235/75/15 so you can air down more and get more traction keeping the rim edge further away from rocks and dings. I only wish they did a 14" tyre that had the same rolling radius as the 235/75/15 ...

I have the HD JB shocks on my roof but did consider complimenting them with a set of Gowesty lift shocks that fit further up the roof like the Reimo ones.
