Lucky having a heater, nice and toasty on those cold winter nights

Looks like a home brew/diy interior with a Sheldon roof. Does it have a night heater?
Does the dh on the vin plate represent the engine code?
Also not a good idea to have a fuel filter in the engine bay, should be after the petrol tank.

Re: Knack for thermostat pipe
Think you might have answered your own question. I had a similar leak on my van. No matter how much tightening and messing about couldn't get rid of a drip on the plastic water flange. Over time it had slightly warped, changed it and all was well again.

Might be perished breather pipes rather than the tank itself.

Re: 2.0l cu air cooled cutting out
Cheers for the replies but have been away this weekend to Ludlow, not quite the dordogne but very pleasant. Cant take a pic as carb is still in situ and cant get camera in behind the carb but definitely same problem as cubus and multisi. Wouldn't surprise me if this had a 1p over It, plenty of other...

Re: 2.0l cu air cooled cutting out
I think I've now found the problem which is causing the air leak. It looks like there should be a core plug at the rear of the carb but it has come out and can't find it lying around the engine. I have sourced a supplier but don't know what size or type I need to order ie dish or cap. Any ideas? Man...

Re: Coolant Header Tank Help
Bleeding a diesel is pretty straight forward as OBG says. Can't get the genuine vw dalek caps anymore, stopped supplying them on 1st December 2017. If it is the cap get the blau one from brickwerks not the cheap crappy ones from eurocarparts. My problem which was similar to yours was a very slight l...

Don't want it in the engine bay. Best where it is
Should be an inline filter after the fuel tank.

She said she has but didn't know what kind of policy it was.
She dosent live very far from where the van is parked, I'm sure someone in her family can give her a tow.

I'm trying to help her not scare her!
I've said if she can get the van home and on her drive, I'll have a go at fitting new gaskets, at least then she can get it to a specialist.
