The tank's not that old it was replaced about 3-4 years ago before I owned it, its not rusted underneath or anything, looks in good shape.

I see a gromit on the diagram, perhaps that's missing or something.

I think powerhosing the crud from under the arches may have had a hand in i

Any tried and tested methods for flushing out, I don't want to take the tank out if possible ! I don't think there's that much petro...

Poor running on petrol

Hi, The van runs on both gas and petrol, well sort of ! When on petrol, it'll go in 1st gear but when you change to 2nd it just looses power and stalls unless you ride it on the clutch, which isn't too good. Same if you give it a quickish rev, it'll loose power and go back to idle again. Any ideas ?...

Idling, high revs ?

Have van running on gas at the moment and all was going well. On way back from Donegal over bank holiday it would almost feel like the accelerator pedal would be sticking slightly, cruise control almost. But I oiled and greased all the movey bits at the carb and under the floor and nothing was even ...

Give them a ring, there friendly enough. Tell them what kind of hinge is on it, could be a fit or maybe they got what your looking for.

Good luck

You sure it's a fiamma roof vent you got ? I've got an 83 high top and replaced a ventline lid a while back, it was 360mm.

I managed to use a longer hose and sweep it away and back again to make the bend. Got a 2ft hose instead of a 6 inch one now !

Replacing coolant hoses

Hi, I've had a few coolant hoses burst and split on me recently and am having trouble getting replacements from vw. Latest one to go is short with a tight bend in it, i'd have to run quite a long hose around a different way to get the bend without creasing the hose :? One end is bigger that the othe...

could be worth a check on the vaccum diaphram on the dizzy! suck gently on the vac pipe and see if there is any resistance? if there is not this could foul up the vac advance and cause poor running! I've done this, I get no resistance I can suck and blow freely  What's it for and problems wou...
