Re: door availability
Yeah, I've got spare doors myself, just the genius at the insurance company (no clue about anything) reckonned a new door would be easy to get and if not they might choose not to repair it and to write the vehicle off, that seems extreme. I need to wait for the accessor and garage to have a look (so...

door availability
well my week was going well until I didn't put the handbrake on properly, the syncro and trailer rolled back, the drivers door was open, that got caught on my DOKA, the trailer went thru the garage door and my toolboxes brought the whole thing to a rest. http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af63/bulli...

Re: Tolkki.fl syncro bits
Thanks for the replies.
So I’m going assume he’s a good guy, knows his stuff and he’ll get back to me shortly.

I sent these guys an e-mail a few days ago;
http://www.oberschlachter.fi/product_catalog.php?c=1
I am keen to buy some suspension stuff off them.
I haven’t heard back, could be because I wrote in English. Has anyone else dealt with them?

Re: 2.1 MV oil in the water
The oil cooler although present was never attached. The guy originally had a 1.9 Engine without oil cooler. He used the water pipework, ECu, wiring, etc from the 1.9 and installed the later 2.1MV engine. I've flushed it out 4 times now, I know what you mean abut oil residue, it's the sort of thing I...

2.1 MV oil in the water
I picked up a camper a couple of months back where the guy was totally fed up with it. He'd rebuilt the engine (2.1MV) the year before and was heartbroken to find oil in the water. I picked it up cheap thinking it's probalby a burst oil cooler as I've had that a few times, an easy fix and happy days...

Re: Broken Gearstick
Looks like the discussion moved on from my broken gearstick, a solid one would definately be nice. Anyway the camping trip was saved, I tapped the shaft about 40mm each way (basically as far as I could get the tap in) then joined them with threaded bar, then welded the join. Can't see it snapping at...

Broken Gearstick
Snapped my gearstick off the other day, luckily I was only trying to reverse onto my driveway. No problem I thought I've got a couple of spare 2wd ones. But there different. I'm now thinking, using a piece of rod or bolt and trying to tap the inside of the shaft and then screw them back together, po...

Re: Removing front diff and driveshafts
thanks for the tips, I've had the diff out a couple of times so i shouldn't be getting caught out.
Is the pin for speedo drive 4.7mm or 4.5mm?, I'm thinking 4.7mm but plenty of doubt in my mind.

Removing front diff and driveshafts
So after struggling trying to remove the speedo drive from the front diff I've decided I'll just pull the diff on the weekend. Time is a bit limited but I'd like to get the front driveshafts out to clean, inspect and re-grease the CV's. Previously I've only removed driveshafts when removing suspensi...

Re: Syncro Style Western Australia
Wheels are 15inch Mefro, imported as a group buy from Germany last year. Spent way too much on them (Freight is a killer). Tyres are 215/75/15. Prior to that I was running Mercedes rims but I bent a couple 4wd'ing. When I bought the van it had T4 Rims, good and strong but horrible offset. Not much c...

Re: Syncro Style Western Australia
Bit annoyed at myself about the hose. Actually got two new hoses a couple of months ago but one was incorrect, so only fitted one new one and meant to order another. Of course forgot, only realised last night when I was checking my spares. Hence I paid the price.
