Re: Chinese diesel heater

Hello, Thank you for the 'coking up' information... :) I will conduct an experiment to find out how much fuel is being delivered, I will compare it with my spare pump. I noticed that the offers on e-bay have a 1-5 kw pump.. so maybe overfuelling. Maybe a restrictor on the downside.. :?: Cordialement...

Re: Chinese diesel heater

Hello, I have had a chinese eber for 3 years now... :) I had a 24volt eber before, which worked well but it was too complicated getting a stable 24 volts. I think I paid 170€ for my 2 kw heater, fitted under the vehicle See 'underslung eberspacher' thread... Comparing the 2, the chinese one is a pre...

Hello, Are you sitting comfortably... then we shall continue.. :) The next step was to recondition the upper roof and lower van frames. these were somewhat rotten and very out of square https://i.imgur.com/w1HSQgd.jpg So these have to be clamped square on the big bench, pinned and glued: https://i.i...

Re: Hub cap Fitting

Hello,

You are quite right,

The hubcaps were type specific, no doubt lost over the years.

My answer was to panel beat the VW logo into a dome..

Voila... :)

Re: Tachometer ‘82 Air cooled

Hello, Do you know about the red dots on your speedo.... :?: If you really want to do this, I would suggest running a multi core wire from the engine bay to the dashboard and avoid using the chassis as an earth. That way you will have the wiring ready for all those other accessories that VW never ne...

Hello, Spark plug leads with long plug holders and rubber hats from Brickwerks ...yes.. :) Well if you no longer have the solex carbs  and airbox, even a KN foam filter is better than an empty tin can.. Part of the design and function of an airbox and filter is to act as a flashback arrestor,...

Hello, Hello, OK, so you have a 2l CU lobbed into a 1.6CT engine bay ( air filter bracket on rhs is the give-away) Cordialement, :ok Nope, early models with metal grills had the air filter bracket with either engine, just not used with the CU engine. I stand corrected sir... Its just that the 82 2 l...

Re: 2.0 CU Engine Oil Warning Problem

Hello, Buy yourself an oil pressure gauge, screw in type..you need about 2 bar pressure at 2000 rpm. This will give you a bit of guidance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4i211jyX38 Pull the hose from the crankcase breather to the air cleaner box...if it is puffing smoke then its rebuild time.. :ro...
