Good garage/mechanic in West Wales??
Hi, does anyone know of a decent garage or mechanic in the Carmarthen area that can be trusted to work on a T25 because so far I haven't had much luck and usually end up correcting their mistakes. I would maintain the van myself but its parked on the road so don't really have anywhere to work on it....

2.1 dj idle stabilisation box
Hi, I've just sold the car and started using the van every day then just my luck it broke down at work the first week and I had to call out a breakdown truck, it would start but wouldn't respond at all to any throttle and sounded like it was running on three cylinders. It felt like an electrical fau...

Re: 2.1 DJ ongoing problems
Thanks for the pep talk Ian, I haven't placed any ads yet! I've had another look at the engine, I took the rocker covers off and on the cylinders 3,4 side there was a build up of oil which leaked out and made a mess on the drive (will remember to put something underneath next time!) and this seemed ...

Re: 2.1 DJ ongoing problems
Hi, thanks for the reply. the header cap came from GSF! I'ver still got the old one and there was probably nowt wrong with it so I'll chuck that back on. The headgasket had definately blown as there were scorch marks across it and the green liner seal had burnt through adjacent to the scorching. As ...

Re: 2.1 DJ ongoing problems
Thanks for the replies. I changed the thermostat some time ago when I was trying to work out why the temp gauge was reading so high all the time and when I took it into the garage I got them to flush the rad and check for leaks etc. Its a good idea to give it a run and I could do a circular route ar...

Re: 2.1 DJ ongoing problems
Hi, It always gave high readings on the temp gauge (about 3 quarters across) and I replaced the gauge and sensor and still the same and then one day it blew a hose going along the motorway so I pulled over immediately. I replaced the hose, refilled it and bled the system but then it blew water out o...

2.1 DJ ongoing problems
Hi, My van has a fairly low mileage Vege engine which has done just over 10,000 miles. The engine has always overheated from when I bought the van and it blew a headgasket some months back for some unknown reason but probably an air pocket. A local garage diagnosed the headgasket problem and strippe...

Blown headgasket on 2.1 dj
Hi, I've just had my van tested for a blown headgasket at a local garage and its been confirmed :( I'm not sure what to do next really, I suppose the engine needs to be repaired either by me or the garage although they are likely to come up with a silly quote. Its not an old engine (VEGE) and has on...

Re: 2.1 DJ engine set up to run on 95 RON
Thanks for the replies. Sorry I didn't find the information on Wiki, I did have a look but couldn't see it before however I found it very easily just a moment ago! I have driven it with lower grade fuel but I never rev it hard anyway as it runs rough at higher revs regardless of the fuel rating. Thi...

2.1 DJ engine set up to run on 95 RON
Hi,
I'm having problems finding many garages in my part of the world that actually sell 98 RON so I would like to set up the engine to run on 95 RON and I'm aware from previous posts that this is ok but I'm not sure exactly what needs changing, can anyone advise me on this please?
cheers
Tim.

LPG convertor in South Wales
Hi, does anyone know of a decent LPG convertor in South West Wales as I'm going to get my 2.1 dj converted asap, I can see from other threads that Steve at Gasure is probably my best bet but Chester is a long way from me especially if theres a problem that needs sorting later on, theres a garage on ...

Re: Instrument panel circuit board problem
AngeloEvs - I've tested the sensor and it was about 107 ohms when the engine was well warmed up and the needle was more than three quarters of the way across; I would like to test the reading at the membrane/gauge next, I would be very grateful for advice on how to do this. ojsmith - thanks for the ...
