Re: Stuck on grass in campsite

Get hold of a plastic bread tray, the ones that they deliver bread to shops / supermarkets in. Cut out the base and then cut it into two strips, place one under each drive wheel tyre.

Re: Any recommendations for garage floor paint?

Forgot to mention, we found Johnstones as good as any brand and leave it to dry for at least 48 hours, ideally longer before placing anything on the surface, even if it feels perfectly dry.

Re: Any recommendations for garage floor paint?

The main reason for the paint coming off or peeling is the condition of the floor before the paint is applied. I managed a self storage business for several years with 550 rooms that had to have floors painted and re-painted regularly. I would make sure your floor is perfectly dry and choose a dry d...

Re: solphated leisure battery

Thanks for the replies, I think the son in law has a smart charger, will try that first. Looked at EDTA and the process involved, looks like it's a problem to dispose of responsibly.

solphated leisure battery

My leisure battery is about a year old, it's a 115 amp deep cycle battery, it has recently been running out of power much faster than expected. I tried charging it fully and it only lasted 12 hours on a compressor fridge set on a medium setting. I had an auto electrican look at it and his opinion is...

Re: What is the minimum height for a wood burner and ground

I have a washing machine drum type, it's about 10" from the ground and have never noticed any scorch marks. Have used it on my lawn at home and no damage.

Re: Body Work and Mechanic recommendations - Hampshire

Try Martin at Springhill garage in Bishopstoke for the mechanical stuff, it's about 20 mins from Winchester. He is pretty knowledgeable on T25's and all other types of Transporter. I use him for anything mechanical on my van, the wifes Golf and my Passat. He loves his Dubs and is an honest bloke.

Try rubbing alcohol based hand cleaner into it. I would re-proof the area afterwards as well.

Re: Yeti v Icey Tech

Coleman claim 5 days, I have managed four by making sure everything is well chilled when it goes in and then filling the gaps with ice cubes. Don't open the drain plug as the melted water still helps keep things cool.

I would also consider the coleman xtreme, a lot cheaper and the performance is very close to those two.

The van will need to be perfectly level to work efficiently on gas.

Re: Mouldy spots

Miltons sterilising fluid should do it or a very weak, thin bleach solution.

Love the solar panel arrangement but not sure about the colour of that washing up bowl. What were they thinking about when they bought that!!

I use Purdys in Portchester, probably the wrong end of Hampshire for you but they are good.
