Re: High reving TIckover on a DG 1.9 Petrol
Hello folks, not that this is going to help you too much but my van does exactly what you have said (running at 2500rpm then drops down etc). I have completely rebuilt my carb at the weekend (not for this reason) and on refitting/running I noticed that the throttle did stick a bit near the throttle ...

Re: Idle problem
I have experienced similar problems and I diagnosed it as crap in the carb (Pierburg 2E on 1.9DG) and having rebuilt it over the weekend I can quite happily say that it was definately the carb! I had previously changed the fuel filters and even removed the filter in the inlet of the carb but it made...

Re: Hightop sealant
Just jumping on this thread because this is on my "To do" list - just wondered if you applied the sealant from outside or inside? It might sound strange but to get the sealant between the bottom edge of the hightop and the roof looks to be quite awkward from outside (the rainguttering gets...

Re: Schofields Cab and sliding Door seals....any good?
I tried that but it didn' work, the runner was too big to lift out, kept catching on the top lip but I may have been doing something wrong.

Re: Schofields Cab and sliding Door seals....any good?
I have fitted all new seals but using ones from JK (I didn't read up on here first!) but the sliding door seal is a complete loop but it was too big on one side and had to be cut so it might be the same as the AS ones. If you do buy one it's worth checking to see if it is too big because if it needs...

Re: Newbie Fuel Leak after Filling
Thanks for the posts. The expansion tank pipes look OK, no evidence of leakage plus they seem to be too far from the sideskirt to be the culprit - however they will be changed just to make sure!! I have ordered a new rubber connecting hose and stainless clamping ring from Brickwerks because I think ...

Newbie Fuel Leak after Filling
Hi folks, Finally got the van back on the road at the weekend after 2 years of ownership and filled it up for the first time yesterday. I was suspect about filling it up after reading the WIKI but my filler neck all looks sound and is plastic. I checked for fuel leaks whilst filling and only put £50...

Re: Gear linkage problem?
Hi folks, I thought I would hi-jack this thread rather than post another one My 4-speed 1.9 petrol had this same problem in a big way (like both feet on the dash trying to get it out of reverse) and I left it with a garage but they said it was fine when they came to have a look at it . I now have th...

Re: Spacing Standard 14" Steel Wheels
Thanks for the reply, sounds like a plan. Getting road car alloys & tyres isn't a problem, in fact I have a couple of sets already, but there's so much talk on here of the right load rating for a van, mines a high-top and I plan to tow a trailer too so it seems like a set of Extra Load tyres cir...

Re: Spacing Standard 14" Steel Wheels
I've had another look and I think only the rear wheels need spacing out, anyone know how far I can space them without fouling the rear door?
Cheers

Spacing Standard 14" Steel Wheels
Hi folks, My van has a big(ish) bodykit and the standard wheels just look wrong sitting so far inside the arches. I would like to space the standard wheels out to fill the arches (only a bit, nothing radical) until I can afford some new alloys, or more importantly alloys with decent tyres rated at t...
