Build Project: Wilbur’s 2.1 DJ

Nope, that 2.1 DJ is running very well indeed and married to an AAP in my pop top campervan. This engine is destined for the next coffee van which was going to debut on 12th April. Date TBC as paint shop is also affected...... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200331/02b640cd2f9d8927a01fa29cac16918...

Re: Build Project: Wilbur’s 2.1 DJ

Looking good and you’re progressing very well! If to you think the crack is an issue, unfortunately no one is going to be able Tig weld that with the current climate. Have another case if you’re feeling adventurous!

Re: The new “Bowler” hardtop

New material as there was too much flex in the waxed cotton. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190828/2ee6981462eca43ab06966acb7c65b50.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190828/1bdc07ec7ee2b03937eb253b25836bd5.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190828/351fd341f155cc25801786d197fb37e5.jpg

The new “Bowler” hardtop

So I’ve been looking for a Vindic for years with no success so the time came to build my own. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190118/718a40c021f525ae719dbaa8dee7bb1e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190118/fa75e921161553ec57fa96fbf9b9f1c0.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190118/1cc3d5...

Anyone fitted a clutch servo?

So I realise that the standard clutch on these vans is no way heavy to work but I have an extremely modified double cab pickup with an AP racing clutch and need to make it easier to use. I was thinking of trying to integrate a servo assist unit for the clutch system to make the clutch pedal feel lig...

Re: 1986 Single Cab

Good work and at least you can keep your hands warm with a running engine whilst testing it all tomorrow.

Nice small cab to warm up as well!

Toasty!

Re: WBX 2.1 DJ Rebuild

From recollection, I looked into this and I believe there are 'stretch' and 'non-stretch' bolts.

Mine were the latter.

I think the issue was lapse in concentration when torquing the big ends, I was probably called in for tea or saw something shiny..........

Re: WBX 2.1 DJ Rebuild

So it's been a while but have an update on the low oil pressure and knocking. Basically one of the bolts on #3 big end had worked loose and fallen off! This meant the conrod was loose on the crank and the noise was the piston hitting the head at the top of the stroke, Luckily the shells hadn't been ...

VW Polo Pickup - Resto

I thought I would share the photos of the body work restoration of my old Mk2 Polo that Converted to a pickup back in 2012. The original project was based around a £1000 budget to enter in the Lands End Trial which was completed, albeit after a lot of sleepless nights. Here's a snippet of me and my ...

Re: WBXlog

I don't think 0.8 bar / 11.6psi is anything to worry about on tick over when the engine is hot.

The low pressure warning light kicks in at 0.3 bar / 4.3psi.

Does the pressure rise up to 2-3bar / 30-40 psi around 2K rpm when the engine is hot? If so that's what it should be.

Is your pressure relief valve working correctly?
