Re: LPG idling issue

Sorry guys, Should have mentioned It's an MV. The temp 2 sensor was recently changed because it was knackered and causing the engine to stay on it's cold cycle. Thanks for the advice both of you. I ran her today and she's running fine on petrol, but missing on gas. I wonder if this is 2 different is...

LPG idling issue

Evening everyone. I have a 2.1 injection Westy which runs on LPG (done by Steve at Gasure 18 months ago). She has been to my friendly mechanic recently while he tried to trace an idling fault with no joy in the end... The problem is that sometimes she idles perfectly and other times she idles far to...

Re: Unknown ticking noise at 3000-3500 RPM

Thanks for the advice. Presumably it's just putting off the inevitable though? Any idea how much a reputable garage charges to do both cv joints?

Re: Unknown ticking noise at 3000-3500 RPM

Interesting you should say that Kev... I've been getting a knocking going round corners when the van's cold which I think may be a CV joint issue. Can I ask why it would start clicking though? Is it something I can fix with a bit of lube or is it likely to be new cv joints required? The boots are bo...

Re: Unknown ticking noise at 3000-3500 RPM

It's at all powers as long as the revs are up. Definitely doesn't sound like it's coming from the engine but must be as it's only there when in gear and revving. Doesn't vary with weight of foot. I would liken the sound to hail hitting the windscreen if that helps? Engine is pulling perfectly!

Re: Unknown ticking noise at 3000-3500 RPM

That is a good question which I can't answer until I try again! It certainly stops when the clutch is dipped and we're free wheeling. I'll have to rev it in the drive and get back to you...

Unknown ticking noise at 3000-3500 RPM

Hi Everyone.... Been a while since I've been on here (the old girl's been behaving!). I wonder if anyone has had anything like this... My 2.1 injection Westy makes a funny ticking noise at between 3000-3500 RPM when warm. The engine is pulling nicely and no power loss at all. If you reduce the revs,...

Westy pop top foam mattress replacement

Hi All, Ages since I've been on here - just back from a few days camping in Exmoor - (Cloud farm camp site recommended!) - anyway, me and the Mrs were wondering if anyone has changed the foam in the roof bed of their Westy pop top? Only ours is very thin and we both bottom out on the hard surface be...

Re: westy fridge

I got mine repaired by a brilliant engineer after it hadn't worked on gas for the first 4 years of owning the van. I did a search for "Dometic Engineer" on google and it brought up a whole load of them. He cam to my house (Wiltshire) and fixed it on site for £65. Came back a couple of hour...

LHD Wipers

Evening All!

Had a quick look in the Wiki, but no joy. Does anyone know where to get a set of LHD windscreen wipers from?

Cheers,

Re: 3 wheeled T25 anyone?

That's really interesting Dave! We had our wheels repainted 5 months ago.... Must be exactly the same thing. I've got a big flat spot on the disc and the french mechanics say it's tres dangereux! Not going to chance it on a 800km return journey with wife and baby!
